NOTES FOR GUIDANCE
Applications will only be considered if supported by a personal letter explaining
why you need the Society's assistance.
Loans awarded by the Society rarely exceed £1000
per annum
Loans are made only after an interview, which is held in central London.
Please be sure that you would be willing to attend such an interview before
you complete the form. In the event of the Committee being unable to make a loan,
then a contribution may be made towards interview expenses. The Committee meets to
conduct these interviews about four times a year, usually in April, July, October and November.
The Committee attaches great importance to the careful completion of the application form.
All entries should be made clearly and in block capitals. All addresses given should be
complete and include the post code. Telephone numbers should be given wherever possible.
If any section of the form requires amplification please do not hesitate to include further
information in a covering letter.
All applications received by the Society are considered most carefully.
However, the annual demand far exceeds the Society's available funds, so the completion of
an application form does not guarantee the granting of a loan.
The Society does not acknowledge the receipt of application forms. Please include your email
address as unsuccessful applicants will only be informed by email.
The Society is unable to consider applications for:
Electives
Distance Learning Courses
Applicants who have been resident in the U K
for less than three years
